She recently posted about living with chronic body pain and it inspired me to think about certain things we can do to for ourself, otherwise known as self care. I personally love to take time for myself while using the most pampering beauty products. I have four ideas below that are great for when you are either stressed or need to take some YOU time.

1.) Apply a mask
If you follow me on instagram, you know I love a sheet mask. Applying one of these sheet masks while you watch TV at night and have a glass of wine (21+) is simply the best. I recently purchased a pack of 16 of these on Amazon. At this price you can mask every night. #selfcaredaily
2.) Exfoliate your body
If you are like me, I always forget to exfoliate or scrub away the dead skin cells on my body. Take that extra little time in the shower to exfoliate your body from head to toe. This gentle exfoliating salt scrub leaves your skin silky smooth and HYDRATED. *Exfoliate your legs with this first, then shave. This will prevent ingrown hairs and any skin irritation.

3.) Apply heat
Whether you have an OG hot bottle warmer or some sort of heated wrap, applying heat on your body is so powerful. Heat can relieve stress, tension, and muscle discomfort in addition to keeping you warm this winter. I use this neck and shoulder wrap every single day. I carry a lot of pain in my shoulders and upper back. I heat this in the microwave for 2.30 minutes and set it on top of my shoulders. I can walk around while I have this on or I can be completely immobile while watching Netflix on my couch (usually the case).

4.) Hydrate your skin
Using a body oil with stress reducing scents is so relaxing. After you exfoliate your body, it is best to follow with a deeply moisturizing lotion or oil. This was given to me as a gift from my mom. She is too sweet and knows how much I love body oils and lavender. This one is 100% naturally derived and smells like dream. When you are stressed, your skin is the last organ to receive nutrients because blood supply is going to your vitals (heart/brain). When your skin is stressed, it can start producing free radicals on that skin which break down skin cells leading to premature aging. YIKES.
